We support Justice and Equity for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex People

During the April 2012 Congregational meeting, the members in attendance voted unanimously to side with justice and equity for LGBTQ people. Specifically, they voted to approve the following statement:

We work to promote acceptance, inclusion, understanding, and equity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer/questioning people (LGBTQ) of all ages, abilities, colors, and genders, both within our denomination and in society at large. We are committed to protecting the civil and legal rights of LGBTQ people and families across the country.

Washington Referendum 74

Over 20 of our members together dedicated hundreds of hours in 2008 to pass Referendum 74 which granted equal rights for marriage to LGBTQ people. Our efforts helped Washington tie with Maryland to become the first two states to pass marriage equality by a vote of the people.
