Our Whole Lives (OWL)

Grades 7 - 9

What do participants learn?

Our Whole Lives is a faith-based sexuality course for students in Grades 7 through 9. Youth learn to understand relationships, to clarify their values, and to see the emotional and social aspects of sexual relationships. The course covers a variety of topics such as abstinence, family types, sexual orientation, love, and commitment.

Other local Unitarian Universalist churches collaborate with us in offering Our Whole Lives, so our young people have the opportunity to meet and get to know their peers in the area.

When is OWL offered?

OWL is offered every other year outside of the Sunday morning classes.

What ages can enroll?

This Junior Youth course is strictly for youth in Grades 7 through 9. Enrollment requires parental permission following a mandatory parent orientation.

What is the cost?

The registration fee varies a bit, based partly on the size of the class. The fee helps cover costs for materials, food and contributes to the cost of training the facilitators. The registration fee ranges from $50 to $80 per child. For a fee reduction, please contact the Minister of Families and Faith Development.
