On May 29, 2019 our congregation voted to take a stand in favor
of equal justice and fair treatment for people of all races and ethnicities. A Racial Justice Stand Task Force with the Racial Justice Committee, in 2026, updated language within the stand to further clarify the purpose.
On May 17, 2026 the Congregation approved the updated Racial Justice Commitment (formerly Stand) which resulted in replacing and sunsetting the existing stand.

Making a Commitment for Racial Justice: Dismantling White Supremacy Culture and Promoting Multicultural Inclusion

We commit to our collective liberation and the dismantling of white supremacy culture. We do this by centering Love as our unifying power and living our shared values of Justice, Equity, Pluralism, Interdependence, Generosity, and Transformation.

We recognize the intersectionality of identities and social justice issues. We commit to:

• Work to end racial discrimination and injustice and strive to make progress toward reparations individually, as a congregation, within our denomination, and in the world around us.
• Engage in public witness on issues that disproportionately harm people of color, while amplifying and centering the voices of marginalized people.
• Advocate to end racist policies such as mass incarceration, illegal detention, and voter suppression.

We will continually work toward our vision of Beloved Community. Recognizing that joy is a vital form of resistance against oppression, we embrace joy to sustain us in this essential work.
