Joe Rettenmaier, Intern Minister

Joe Rettenmaier is currently serving as Sabbatical Minister at Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation. He is a candidate for ministry with the Unitarian Universalist Association, lives in Seattle, and has called our magnificent Puget Sound home since 1988.

Joe’s adult faith explorations led him to Unitarian Universalism in 2008. He eventually found Westside UU as his spiritual home in 2010. He sought out community development opportunities there, leading Covenant Group ministries, congregation-wide social events, renovation projects, and eventually serving as Board President.

After years of helping to lead his congregation from the Board, Joe decided to leave his high-tech corporate pursuits to answer his call to faith-based leadership. In the fall of 2016, he began pursuing his Masters of Divinity degree with his interests in climate justice and entrepreneurial faith leadership in our urban centers.
