WHAT DO THEY DO?

The Transition Team works with our congregation to discern and describe who we are as a congregation and where we are headed. Congregational self-understanding is key to finding a Settled Minister who is a good match for our congregation in the years ahead.

WHAT WILL THEY DO?

With knowledge of our congregation in mind, the Search Team will represent us in preparing the position announcement, conducting interviews, and all the other important steps needed to select our next Settled Minister.

• Board appoints Interim Minister Search Committee: Done

The members of the Interim minister search committee are:

• Interim Search Committee asks Transitions Office to Initiate Interim Search

• Interim Search Committee prepares Interim Search Documents Packet

• Earliest publish date for Congregational Interim Records

• Congregational Interim Record Sheet (application) Deadline

• Offer extended to an internal candidate

• Board appointed a Contract/Target Minister Search Committee √ – Carolyn, Cynthia, Grant and Marilyn

• Contract/Target Minister Search Committee reads the Transitional Ministry handbook √

• Contract/Target Search Committee asks Transitions Office to Initiate Search √

• Contract/Target Search Committee prepares Contract/Target Search Documents Packet √

• UUA Transition team releases the Search Document Packet to the Minister Search portal √

• UUA Transition Team reaches out to ministers to encourage them to apply to our search team (This starts January 6th) √

• UUA Transition Team releases minister profiles to our Contract/Target search team √

• Contract/Target Minister Search Committee vets any applicants and passes on to the Board √

• The Board then negotiates the contract and the Minister begins the short term ministry with us. √
• Effective January 1, 2025 until July 31, 2025, Rev. Nancy Reid-Mckee has agreed to act as a consultant, specifically finding ministers or professionals to lead the Sunday morning services. Rev. Reid-McKee will also be available for Memorial Services or other services as needed and will be compensated for these additional services at the UUMA recommended rate.
