Climate Change for Families – April, 2018
To honor EUUC’s congregational stand and in observance of Earth Day, we will donate the Sunday offerings for April to Climate Change for Families, the local group representing the global effort Plant for the Planet.
Plant for the Planet has a three-part climate recovery program:keeping fossil fuels in the ground, fighting poverty with climate justice, and planting trees world wide. Trees soak up and store carbon and therefore play a vital role in combating climate change.
Climate Change for Families aims to plant a billion trees in the state of Washington, some in the Seattle area and some in state forests where forest fires have occurred. EUUC’s youth will be joining this effort on April 15 after the second service by helping to plant trees near the playground area in Yost Park, Edmonds.
