Responsibility for the rental of EUUC’s physical property resides in the Board of Trustees through the work of the Finance Committee, as recommended by the Administrator and the Finance appointed Rental Coordinator.

Use of buildings by congregational members

Members shall have the right to use the EUUC facilities, free of charge, for weddings and memorial services in which they, or their immediate family, are personally involved. Member use for any other purpose, including wedding receptions, shall be charged a rental rate at the current rates charged for non-members. Members shall be responsible in all instances for any expense of setup or cleanup, use of sound system and any other necessary congregational staff. Exceptions to this policy may be made at the discretion of the Congregational Administrator and the Rental Coordinator from the Finance Committee.

Use of buildings by local non-profit community service organizations in keeping with our non-profit purpose

Local non-profit community service organizations, needing space for an occasional open meeting, may use the space at a 50% reduction of the rental normal rental rates when sponsored by a member of EUUC. The member sponsor shall be responsible for returning facilities to acceptable condition and for any expense of setup or cleanup.

Use of buildings for activities not related to our non-profit purpose

Not for Profit Activities – Space may be rented by non-profit organizations, provided that such use does not interfere with and is not detrimental to EUUC programs or activities, and does not conflict with the mission and vision of the congregation.

For Profit Activities – Those areas which have been established as subject to property tax may be rented to for-profit organizations or individuals, provided that such use does not interfere with an is not detrimental to EUUC programs or activities, and does not conflict with the mission and vision of the congregation.

A schedule of rental fees shall be maintained by the Finance Committee and shall be reviewed annually. Custodial fees shall be quoted separately and shall be mandatory for Saturday night rentals. A deposit shall be required of the renter at the time the building is reserved. (See Building Use Procedures in Appendix E.)

Sales and use of Chapman Hall, Narthex, and Atrium

Sales activities by non-profit corporations renting the EUUC premises are permitted. Otherwise, sales activities in the Narthex, Atrium or other areas are limited to those sponsored by EUUC or by one of its committees.

Rental of Chapman Hall includes the Narthex and Atrium.
