EUUC signs on to support youth in their climate lawsuit – Juliana v United States

The Peace & Justice committee voted to sign EUUC on to an organizational letter to the US Department of Justice, requesting they reverse their legal position that the youth plaintiffs in Juliana v United States have no right to access the courts to vindicate their constitutional rights when they are in a health- and life-threatening controversy with their government. The letter asks the DOJ to bring to the settlement table tangible ideas to significantly address the youth’s concerns for a safe environment, and if those discussions do not achieve a resolution of the case, allow the youth plaintiffs their day in court.
