Seabeck 2019 is set for September 20-22 at the Seabeck Retreat Center on Hood Canal.

Registration is open and limited to 60 spots.  Click here for the  registration form.

Seabeck is an unhurried time to spend time together with family and friends, some of whom you may not yet know well. There is ample time to play games, share stories and have nature strolls on the grounds and beyond.

Saturday Program
The theme for 2019 is What is in your time capsule. This theme will present itself in Saturday workshops and in songs throughout the weekend. Saturday morning (after breakfast and possibly a stroll to watch deer) is an all-camp session to reflect on some aspect of our lives and community. Past sessions have ranged from exercise and health to Global Culture.

Friday gathering: Friday is the evening to make the journey across the water, leaving our workaday lives behind and opening out minds and souls for adventure. Friday dinner is not part of camp, and options are limited in Seabeck. Games are plentiful in the lodge, and conversation starts in earnest. Arrival can be as early as 2PM or when you can make it. When darkness approaches, campfire sing along and gathering is held by the lagoon, and we sing the night away.

Mixing: One of the goals of Seabeck is to get the opportunity to stretch our social circles and creative powers through a structured and unstructured activity. Some tell the joys and unexpected pleasure in= getting a chance to go further than Sunday-Deep with someone else while at the Seabeck Retreat.

Meals: Meals at Seabeck are family style with a salad bar that offers options to suit special dietary requirements. The camp is also very accommodating to special dietary needs, if advised ahead of time. Accommodations: Accommodations are varied, and there are single occupant options in the annex. Others are in rooms with up to 4 beds. Costs vary with the features and building. There is a Seabeck surcharge for single occupant in a double room. Bedding and towels are provided. Ask the registrar if you have specific rooming needs. We will have a cart for rides around the grounds if needed.

Saturday Variety Show The variety show is a favorite for decades at Seabeck, with the youth almost always stealing the show. The show is capped by folk dancing in the meeting hall, and various informal gatherings last well into the night.

Saturday Programming:
The theme for Seabeck this year is the metaphor of your personal time capsule. The Saturday morning program will feature a series of views into this and what is important to each of us, as well as collectively.

Youth Programs:
Roughly a third of the participants the typical year are the youth. This camp is one of their favorites. As a parent or assigned weekend guardian, we ask that you maintain vigilance on where they are for
safety’s sake. The youth have Coleman lounge as a hang out zone where much of Saturday afternoon is dedicated to the preparation of their Evening Skit.

Polar Bear Swim: Regardless of the weather, the Polar Bear swim is held at 4PM on Saturday and involves a dip into the lagoon from the float. Without fail, some youth swim the distance to the bridge and back under watchful eye of a rowboat alongside. Patches are awarded to swimmers.

Sunday: Sunday services are held at 10AM in the Cathedral in the woods. Golf Cart available if needed. Departure is after lunch is served – bag lunches are available if requested ahead of time.
