Volunteering
Our programs for children and youth depend on many dedicated parents, guardians and other volunteers. Each family that has students enrolled in our program is asked to volunteer a minimum of ten hours over the course of the program year (Sept-June). You do not need to volunteer in your child’s classroom—there are many other ways to support our program. Each year we ask that you look over the volunteer positions below and let us know which ones interest you.
Volunteer Roles

Toddler Room Helper
Do you love wee ones? Help out 1-2 times per month with our toddlers, assisting our paid childcare provider.

Classroom Helper
Provide assistance to our Lead Teachers on Sunday mornings, helping with activities, set up and clean up, snack, games, and general classroom support. This is a one and a half hour commitment, on Sunday mornings, once every 4-6 weeks.

Classroom Support Person
Support your child's class (could include craft preparation, bringing snacks, help with special projects, etc.) 1-2 Sundays a month, 1-2 hours.

Teaching and Advising
Are you interested in teaching one of the classes, volunteering with the Youth Group, or working with the Our Whole Lives group? If so, please enter your name, and DRE Alanna Desrochers will contact you with information about how to apply.

Arts and Worship Assistant
Do you have an artistic or crafty side, an interest in theater and worship arts, or want to learn some of these crafts? Help with Chalice Chapel Sundays (first Sunday of every month) and special multi-generational worship services, 3-4 times/year.

Sunday Morning Photographer
Love taking pictures? Help us document our program for families, social media, and posterity. 1-2 Sundays a month, 2-3 hours.

Family Ministry Team Member
Help create multi-generational events and support our family ministry program.

Parental Agreements
Medical Release
I give my consent and authority for the staff of Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation ("EUUC") or designated adults to take action to help ensure the safety, health and welfare of my children, youth, and wards. I also request and empower EUUC staff or designated adults to authorize medical personnel and hospitals to provide all medical care, including but not limited to hospital tests, emergency surgical care, pathology, radiology and anesthesia, surgery and prescriptive drugs for the health of my child.

Classroom Field Trips
I give permission for my children and youth to participate in Sunday morning walking field trips as part of the Religious Exploration program. This includes nature walks to nearby parks, and, for high school youth, visits to nearby coffee shops and restaurants. (No vehicular travel is covered by this agreement; such field trips will require additional signed forms.)

Law Violations
I understand that if one of my children, youth, or wards break any federal, state, or local laws, that child or youth will be asked to leave the event, and I will be asked to pick up my child, youth or ward. The event might be a Sunday morning class or any group, activity or meeting at EUUC or as part of a field trip, conference, or other event held away from our building and property.

Up-to-date Information
I will notify the Families and Faith program if there are changes to the information -- including medical, insurance, and contact data -- that I provided to Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation so that the adults who work with my children, youth, and wards have current information.

Legal
On behalf of my children, youth, and wards, I release, discharge and covenant to hold harmless the Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation, its officers, employees and volunteers, from any and all claims, causes of action, and liability of any kind or nature, including personal injuries or death, or in any way arising out of, directly or indirectly, the children's, youth's, and wards' attendance or participation with EUUC.

I grant Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation all authority and permissions indicated on these forms by my selections. I understand that all authority and permission granted here under shall be valid and enforceable until specifically rescinded in writing by the persons signing the form, or by the withdrawal of the program registration of my child, youth, or ward.

In accordance with the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, I certify that by typing my name on this electronic record, I am supplying my electronic signature with the intent to sign this agreement and agree to its terms.
