In 1953 when the American Unitarian Youth and the Universalist Youth Fellowship merged to form the Liberal Religious Youth, one of the stated goals of the new organization was to help young Unitarians and Universalists “to gain a durable faith,” a faith that would support youth throughout the course of their lives. Over seventy years later, in a time of environmental and political crises, the issue of faith and its durability remains as relevant as ever. What does a durable Unitarian Universalist faith look like in the twenty-first century?
