Reverends Barbara and Jaco ten Hove, are both now part of the Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship (BUF) up the road.

Rev. Dr. Barbara Wells ten Hove began her ministry at East Shore Unitarian in Bellevue, WA in 1985 and since then has served solo in Washington and British Columbia UU congregations, plus co-ministries with Jaco in Colorado, Maryland and finally at Cedars UU Church on nearby Bainbridge Island, from which they both retired in 2017 as Emeritus Ministers. While her focus in ministry was on worship and UU evangelism, in retirement, she preaches occasionally, writes, sings in the BUF choirs, and serves as president of the Bellingham Cohousing community where they live happily.

And of course Rev. Jaco ten Hove was the beloved settled minister here at EUUC from 1988 until 1998. He also sings in the BUF choirs, and has a new kind of ministry as a certified Master Composter and Recycler focusing on reducing plastic pollution. He does a healthy round of landscaping maintenance on the 6 acres of Bellingham Cohousing and is also webmaster for the continental association of Retired UU Ministers and Partners.
