Here is a great project to remind our community how important our democracy is. Enlist your kids and grandkids, too!
Put up 5-10 simple posters with handwritten democracy slogans in your neighborhood and other public places.* This activity for all ages will help prime the pump for in-person actions that will occur next week should the democratic process be called into question.
Use a bold marking pen in a dark color (avoid using only red or blue – use both! and/or a different color!). Write one of these simple slogans on an 8 x 11 sheet of paper:
Count Every Vote!
Choose Democracy!
Protect Every Person!
Democracy! America!
Place the paper in a protective plastic cover, and post along well-traveled streets.
*Please note: do not post on telephone poles. This is illegal because it affects worker safety.
