Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County is the Sunday cause of the month for November. The mission of Habitat for Humanity is seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Habitat Snohomish is currently working to rehab an existing house in the Bayside neighborhood, north of Downtown Everett, to provide a decent and affordable home for a qualified homebuyer. Qualified homebuyers partner with Habitat and the community to help build their own house by putting in sweat equity and purchasing their homes with an affordable mortgage.
Through their Home Repair Service, Habitat Snohomish also performs critical home repair, preservation, and weatherization services to support low-income homeowners and preserve affordable homes in our neighborhoods. Over the past three years, Habitat has replaced roofs, provided wheelchair ramps and completed other important repairs to help homeowners in our communities including seniors, veterans and families with disabilities improve their quality of life and remain safely in their homes.
Our funds will be used for materials, supplies and equipment needed for building, repairing and preserving affordable homes in our neighborhoods.
As affordable housing becomes increasingly more expensive and challenging in our region, it is important to build the resilience in our neighborhoods that is essential to the health and wellbeing of our communities. Through the strategic combination of home construction, homeownership, and home repair, Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County strives to eliminate substandard housing and end the cycle of poverty.
