The July and August Cause of the month is Global Refuge (formerly known as Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service). Global Refuge’s mission is “Fostering a world of just and welcoming communities.” They support and empower immigrants, asylum seekers and refugees who are rebuilding their lives in the United States.
Since 1939, Global Refuge has provided welcome and hope to more than three quarters of a million refugees. Their vision is that all immigrants and refugees are protected, embraced and empowered in a world of just and welcoming communities.
They offer services without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, religious belief, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, ability, military or veteran status, source of income or political affiliation.
The funds donated by EUUC will be used by Global Refuge where the need is greatest.
