The July Cause of the month is the Sound Experience. Sound Experience sails the historic schooner Adventuress, a century-old National Historic Landmark tall ship, to educate, inspire, and empower an inclusive community that works to improve our marine environment and celebrates our maritime heritage. Their programs foster environmental sustainability, youth development, and maritime careers. The vision of Sound Experience is a future where everyone values the Salish Sea and the world’s oceans and chooses to act as stewards of their treasured waters.

Part of the mission of Sound Experience is to serve an inclusive community—we hope that people of all ages and from all walks of life will have the chance to sail aboard Adventuress and experience Puget Sound from the deck of a tall ship. Though all of their programs are subsidized, they also provide some partial youth scholarships on a limited basis.

The funds donated by EUUC will be dedicated to fund scholarships for youth who would otherwise be unable to participate in this potentially life-altering experience.
