The October cause of the month is Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN). WAISN is an immigrant led organization committed to defending immigrant and refugee communities from deportation while advocating for meaningful, systemic change. Their work focuses on both deportation defense and pushing for policies that ensure justice for all Washingtonians.
They protect and advance the power and rights of all immigrant and refugee communities. As a queer and transgender founded and led nonprofit, they organize from a place of gratitude and commit to intersectional, multi-faith, inter-generational, multi-lingual, multiracial, multi-ethnic immigrant-led efforts by investing in base building and growing the leadership of forced migrants. Across the state, WAISN provides a deportation defense hotline and Know Your Rights training as well as supports local Rapid Response team building.
The funds donated by EUUC will be given to them unrestricted to be applied to the area where they see most need.
As always, thank you for your generous donations.
