January Cause of the Month – Edmonds Pride

The January cause of the month is Edmonds Pride.  Nurturing and embracing the potential of Edmonds and South Snohomish County’s LGBTQIA+ community is a pillar of Edmonds Pride’s mission. By providing leadership, learning, and economic opportunities, Edmonds Pride seeks to unleash community members’ potential as artists, leaders, and visionaries.

Edmonds Pride also seeks to provide spaces and services for seniors, whose knowledge and experiences are invaluable to understanding the tapestry of LGBTQIA+ experiences and building a strong community. Edmonds Pride prioritizes accessibility, hosting events of varying sizes, especially outdoors, and in accessible venues. Edmonds Pride also prioritizes investing money into the LGBTQIA+ performers, arts, and businesses who make Pride possible.

Edmonds Pride was formed in 2024 to take over responsibility for Pride activities from the city of Edmonds due to municipal budget deficits, and the organization was granted 501(c)3 status in March 2025. Starting in January 2025, Edmonds Pride has hosted at least one event per month with the goals of fundraising, fostering community and connection, and creating safe and affirming spaces for all. Some of The events from 2025 include: Pride Trivia, Hickman Park Garbage and Ivy Removal, Valentines Day at Bar Americano, A Pride Tea Party, and The Edmonds Pride LGBTQIA2S+ Winter Artist Market. These events and collaborations bring in new faces to small businesses that may otherwise be struggling and help to establish and identify safe spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community.  Edmonds Pride events welcome the whole Edmonds and South Snohomish community, with a particular focus on LGBTQIA+ youth, elders, and families.

The funds donated by EUUC will be unrestricted so the organization can continue their important work in the ways they need.
