The February cause of the month is College Place Elementary Families First. CPE Families First is a school-based nonprofit created by parents and caregivers who believe that when families are supported, children thrive.

At College Place Elementary, nearly three-quarters of families are low-income, over half are English language learners, and more than 5% are experiencing homelessness. CPE Families First helps to address the huge needs of these families.

CPE Families First provides emergency financial assistance to families who are on the precipice of eviction, having their utilities shut off, needing food to feed their families, etc.. They provide one-time financial assistance to a family per year to get them through the month. Pay those funds directly to the landlord, pay the utilities directly online, and purchase grocery gift cards. Money never goes directly to the family as a check or cash.

The funds donated by EUUC will be unrestricted so the organization can continue their important work in the ways they deem necessary.
