Accessibility of Building and Programs
We welcome and affirm people of all abilities. We have taken the following steps to assure that no one is excluded from participation in the life of our church. This is an ongoing process for our community.
Disabled Parking
You will find several disabled parking places in our main parking lot.
Mobility
The main floor of our building is wheelchair accessible. Chapman Hall where we worship and hold social events, the Kitchen, the committee information tables, the children’s classrooms, the Friarplace, the restrooms, and the offices are wheelchair accessible and on the first floor.
The small second floor, called the Loft, is used by the Youth Group and is only reached by a long stairway.
Sight
We have a Braille hymnal. Ask to borrow a Braille hymnal at the Welcome Desk when you enter the building.
Hearing
We have headsets for listening assistance. Before the service, stop at the Sound Operators’ desk in the back of Chapman Hall and borrow a headset and wireless FM receiver. We also have neckloops for those who have a T-switch on their hearing aids.
Special Needs Children
If you want your child to participate in the religious education program and feel that they may require special accommodation due to learning disabilities or behavioral issues, please contact the Director of Religious Exploration in advance so the best possible arrangements can be made.
Pastoral Care
We provide pastoral care to all members regardless of ability. If you have a hidden disability that you think it’s important for someone to know, please contact a member of the pastoral care team or contact a staff member to share your information in confidence.
Service Animals
We have grassy areas where service animals may relieve themselves. If you have any questions not answered or concerns not addressed, please contact the church office to seek further information.
